Back to the streets were i began
It took me 14 days after landing in Montreal to get back to NYC!
(still too long if you ask me!)
And now i'm back in Canada after a 22 hours round trip,
4 nights in the city, 2 amazing diners in East Village,
a few crazy long walks, a trip to Brooklyn Bridge,
a full day of shopping, wayyyyy too many calories,
some long overdue conversations with amazing friends,
an evening at my fav place in the whole world,
a never to be forgotten encounter with a German stud
and i even managed to squeeze in a sailing trip!
CAN'T WAIT TO COME BACK
Installation over!
Okay! so it took me a while but it's finally done.
Here is my new room now furnished with lights and pillows
(thanks to a gruesome trip to Ikea!)
the pictures are up,
And i must say i'm pretty happy with the result
Hopefully this will be a happy place
right now it feels like a stand-bye place
pretty comfy though...;)

wishing you were here
It's officially been a week!
And to summarize i never expected this departure to be so hard: saying goodbye was the worst (as some may have noticed)
But i also never expected half of what i've already discovered here: it's good to be away from all the Parisian disappointments, pains & heartaches...I've seen architectures i never had before, met fascinating new people, enjoyed lunches in the sun, walked for miles to nowhere...Away from my sorrows, my spirits are slowly rising.
i just...WISH YOU WERE HERE

guess what i did this afternoon?
THE GAME....(well of the day at least)
thanks to JustinTV i've been able to follow live Racing-Montauban
can't really say it was the game of the season, at least not for the Racingmen
(but Jerome (cap today) was amazing as always ;) )
Ohh and because it was a little early for beer (well actually that's a bad excuse but the only one i got for u) i had cupcake instead! VERY different but a surprisingly nice combo
In tourist mode
first day without any apartment visits
So this morning I put on my best walking shoes and went to Old Montreal and back
(a roughly 3hours promenade).
The weather was amazing,(who ever said Montreal was cold this time of the year)
it was lovely to be walking around, lots to see...and the more I see the more I get the feeling Canadians don't take themselves too seriously (i.e this picture)
I got back around 2.30pm just in time for...
ahhh l'Amerique!
Friday i went on an other apartment hunt....
I can't say it was a total success but i did find THE 2 products i most missed when i was in France: Olay ultra moisturizer and delicious (fattening) Goldfishs
(90 cal for 20g...the pack is 200...and yes it's already empty!!!)
Apartment wise i might have found something but i won't know until tonight...
the roommates still have to decide if i'm right for them
I'm trying not to get to exited but i would really like to move in there...
you'll know more, when i do....
XoXo

first really weird experience
and this brings us to yesterday:
i had new rooms to visit, so i set out to do that...and around five i was supposed to be at a place, north of Montreal in a neighbourhood called Mile End. When i got to the door, nobody was home, so i waited and within 5 mins more than 10 (no kidding!) Jewish guys wearing long black coats and tall hats walked in or out of the surrounding houses!it was so bizarre...and they had tones of kids, all in uniform, walking quietly around...I didn't stick around long, not really the surrounding i was looking for to settle in...no bars, no shops, no nothing
And after that, i felt hungry, so i stopped at the weird little place by the subway called: la Maison du cheddar! (honestly the cheese tasted like old tire...i don't know what i was expecting....but the waitresses were really nice and the place had to be checked out)
first day in Montreal
So on Wednesday i spent half my time on Craig's list trying to find a place to stay...
by mid-day i had tones of appointments and set out to visit those places.
And by the end of the day i had seen tones of crappy apartments but made 2 new friends: a guy and a girl who have known each other since Art school in London. We instantly hit it of and i might move in with them except the room is tiny, expensive and not furnished....so my mind is still not made up

the beginning
ok let's start by the flight:
AF from Paris CdG to Montreal: so comfy!
Now that i've taken so many low-costs and charters i kind of had forgotten what it's like to be on a "standard" plane: champagne, white wine....nice way to celebrate this crazy leap of faith!
The landing and paperwork (i had to get my working visa at the airport) not so fun!
took more than three hours! and yes that's MORE than to go work in the US...who would have thought!
then there was the bus....and the subway...and then walking (all of that with gigantic suitcase and bags) and finally i got the apartment of the nice people that are letting me stay over until i get my own place
Blog launching!
Ok....so I know it took me slightly longer than promised but i finally got round to creating my very own first blog! Hope you enjoy it!
